We live in a galaxy ( The milky way ) that is about one hundrend Thousand light years (a unit of astronomical distance equivalent to the distance that light travels in one year, which is 9.4607 × 1012 km (nearly 6 million million miles).  across and is slowly rotating the stars in its spiral arms orbit around its center about  once every Hundred million years.
